The Bostrichid Powderpost Beetle is typically found in wood (soft and
hard) and furniture, as newer wood is its primary diet. With coloring
from red-brown to black, the Bostrichid measures about 1/8 to 1/4 inch
long and has a narrow, slender body.
Female Bostrichid Powderpost Beetles will bore into wood to create
a tunnel to lay their eggs in. The Bostrichid Powerdpost larvae take
up to a year to complete their development, but have been known to take
up to five to fully mature.
